The engross of safety of diarists is in the front of global attention. It is an elementary pillar of the universal, inalienable serious to run freedom. The number of journalists, media professionals and bloggers killed since 1992 is really astounding. They pinched their last breath because someone did not like what they wrote or said, or because they were in the erroneous place in the wrong time. 965 journalists have been killed since 1992.*1 Media professionals and journalists suffered non- terminal attacks, which means, being wounded, raped, abducted, harassed, intimidated or illegally arrested. They are divest of the freedom of opinion and expression which clearly states that such fatal attacks are against the democracy. The population is deprived of getting aware of the happenings in the surroundings.
The protection and safety of journalists, media workers and accredited associated personnel is a concern of utmost importance in situations of armed conflicts and elsewhere for the Tunisian Republic. The government of the country has the outlook that a free press gives people access to the information they need to make small decisions about their lives and is essential for a democracy. Tunisia preserves right of press-freedom to journalists. in that respect has only one journalist killed in the country since 1992 and also, the French photographer Lucas Mebrouk Dolega , was killed in 2011 due to head injuries suffered while blanket the protests that led to the former President Ben Alis dismissal.*2
