Both The address of The Screw and The Magic Toyshop have a theme of class division throughout the p round, however, two Henry James and Angela Carter desexualize the class divide in different ways. In The Turn of the Screw we take in a caboodle of condemnation between the classes. The Governess describes Quint as non a gentleman, which would cause real offence to Quint as it would have been taken as a real spite in the Victorian period. Also we hear of Quint assay on a suit, showing the longing he has to be in the fastness classes. I feel this evokes a lot of sympathy from the reader for Quint as we pity him because of the Governess acerb remarks and also he has been yearning his whole life to be a gentleman. This is a much different committal to writing technique to Carters in The Magic Toyshop as she real never directly has any protagonist distinguish between the classes, yet pity and sympathy are still felt up by the reader.
The Master, Miles and Flora are the highest class of people in The Turn of the Screw.
