OVERVIEW James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and can buoy Jay wrote 85 anonymous articles for the New York Journal in 1787 and 1788, with the develop of persuading the people of New York to ratify the proposed Constitution. mong the numerous advantages promised by a well-constructed Union, none deserves to be more accurately developed than its list to break and control the violence of faction. . . . It could never be more truly said than of the first remedy that it was worse than the disease.
