This photograph is a kind of horrifying photograph. It seems to be genuinely minatory and shows much of Woodmans inner battles with what index have been a mental illness. The way the curtain tie is shot makes it appear as if evil is spiraling in spite of appearance or outside of her soul through the gateway of her mouth. She seems to also be scared or horrified in some like the turtle as well as the one I analyzed and such.
I think that this photograph has all strengths. The composition and framing was right on. It gives you a sense of who Woodman was and the battles she was suffering within. The message of perception is very clear and somewhat tells a story. It is shot dead!
I do consider this photo art. It expresses emotion and is framed artistically. This photograph was not candid and set up/designed in every aspect to make it art. This photograph holds its own. From the way its framed to what Woodman manipulated in the photograph makes it art.
