Mortal Engines is set in post prophetic Earth, after an event known as the ‘Sixty arcsecond War’. Tom is then thrust into many adventures in which he discovers that the ‘Anti-Traction League’, a group of people whop have settled back into static towns and cities, are not as bad as they are said to be by people of the traction cities.
