1. Introduction The following project is a result of the knowledge acquired on the Art History course. Art History may dwell in different opinions and judgments leapn to an ar 2rk in piece to understand what the artist was trying to express by the create and in some cases find the secrets hidden inside it (Roskill, 1989). In order to demonstrate this knowledge, it has been necessary to choose a film or picture from the exposition shown in the Fondation de lHermitage primed(p) at Lausanne. In the next paragraphs I will give a critical view of the painting named Le boor from the artist Félix Vallotton created in 1909, explaining its historical context, identifying key schools and movements during the completion studied and how they affect the artist vision. 1.1The Fondation de lHermitage The Fondation de lHermiatge is housed in a beautiful nineteenth century residence and is utilise to holding temporary worker exhibition on the fine arts. It is opened to the public permanently. The villa, with part of the park that surrounds it, was given to the City of Lausanne by the descendants in 1976. The mansion has been care bounteousy restored to its original splendor.
